What are Secondary Conditions?

We have all had the experience when the engine light suddenly illuminates in our car. Have we ever concluded that the light is the actual problem, or is the light just an indication that an underlying issue exisits with the car? Of course we know that the engine light is to let you know that there is a problem with the car. In this scenario, the engine light in the car is a "symptom" due to the underlying condition. Our bodies, similar to our cars, also have these warning lights, or "symptoms" that let us know that there is an underlying condition, something more serious, going on in our bodies. Structural Chiropractors refer to these symptoms, "Secondary Conditions", because that is precisely what they are. They are secondary to an underlying condition that is causing these secondary conditions to occur. This underlying condition, a Structural Shift, can be the cause of many secondary conditions. Some of which include:

- Neck and Back Pain
- Sciatica and Hip Pain
